Philippines Tours, Travel & Backpacker Adventure
The Philippines consists of over 7000 coral-fringed islands, scattered just above the equator in the western Pacific Ocean. Most of the Philippine islands have volcanic, mountainous interiors, dropping to coastal plains and white sand beaches. These attract mountain sports enthusiasts as well as dedicated sun worshipers - and with 36,289 kilometers of coastline, it’s not surprising that this spectacular, Southeast Asian archipelago is also a magnet for water sports fans!
The Philippines is divided into three geographical island groups. To the north are the islands of Luzon, where the country’s hectic capital city Manila is found. The Visayas group lies beneath Luzon, with Cebu Island the focal point for transport and economic activity. To the south is the less-visited Mindanao group, where you'll find the Philippines’ highest peak, Mount Apo (2954 m).
As an extremely diverse adventure destination, the Philippines is home to an astounding array of bird, animal and plant life! Its mountainous islands are covered in abundant rainforest, and of all the waterways that thread through the islands, Cagayan River on Luzon Island is the longest.
From first class scuba diving to unforgettable mountain trekking; the Philippines is an excellent choice for an adventure destination!
