Snorkel or scuba dive the pristine reefs of the Red Sea and discover the temples and tombs of ancient Egypt by felucca on the River Nile.

DAYS 1 - 3, Arrive in Cairo
You arrive at Cairo airport where we greet you and transfer you to your hotel. The next day we take you on a tour of Gisa and Saqqara. At Gisa we check out the Pyramids and Sphinx and you have the chance to climb inside one of the pyramids and take a camel ride (approx. GBP 2-5 p/p for around 30mins).

We then travel to Saqqara, where Djeser’s (Zoser’s) Step Pyramid (built 4700 years ago) dominates the skyline and is believed to have been the ancient Egyptians’ first attempt at Pyramid building. The following day is free to explore Cairo at leisure.

DAY 4, Aswan, Philae temple
Aswan is Egypt’s most southerly city situated on the banks of the Nile at the northern end of Lake Nasser ( created after the building of the High Dam).

This afternoon we tour to the Temple of Philae, a complex dedicated to Isis and reclaimed from the rising waters of Lake Nasser, which we reach by boat. We may also stop to visit the Aswan Dam and you have the option to visit the Nubian Museum while you are in Aswan.

DAYS 5 - 6, Aswan, Felucca cruise
The first morning in Aswan is free for you to explore the town, or alternatively you can take the chance to fly to the remarkable temples of Ramses II at Abu Simbel (own expense) which were dismantled and rebuilt when Lake Nasser was flooded.

After checking out of our hotel, we visit the islands in the Nile at Aswan by felucca or motorboat (depending on the weather). These include Elephantine Island, with its Nubian villages, Pharaonic ruins, museum and Nileometer; and Kitchener Island, with its beautiful and peaceful botanical gardens. Later in the afternoon, we board a traditional felucca sailboat for a 2-night cruise on the Nile.

DAYS 7 - 8, Komombo and Edfu, Luxor
We finish our felucca cruise after breakfast, at Komombo, where there are the remains of a temple dedicated to the Gods Sobek and Haroeris.

We travel by mini-coach to Luxor via Edfu Temple, a well-preserved complex dedicated to the God Horus, before continuing on to Luxor and checking into our hotel. The town of Luxor is built on and around the ancient site of Thebes, and boasts the largest concentration of ancient ruins in the Nile Valley.

To the West of the Nile lies the City of the Dead, with its mortuary temples and rock-hewn tombs, whilst to the east lie Karnak & Luxor temples. This afternoon we take a tour of the East Bank, visiting the Temples of Karnak and Luxor. And the following day take a tour to the West Bank of the Nile, starting with the Valley of the Kings.

DAY 9, Cairo, free day
We arrive in Cairo, and check in at our hotel and the rest of the day is free for some extra sightseeing and shopping. Alternatively you have the option of a day trip to Alexandria.

DAYS 10 - 13, Drive to Dahab, free time
We leave Cairo early this morning for the drive to Dahab (approx. 7 hours by coach). The afternoon is free to relax by the hotel pool or to find a beach, and enjoy the unique feel of this friendly village.

We spend the next 4 days here, and while some activities and excursions are included, there is plenty of free time for you to relax, try an introductory scuba-dive, or do a diving course. We include snorkelling at the famous Blue Hole, climb aboard camels and watch the sun slowly setting as we head towards the Blue Lagoona

DAYS 14 - 15, Dahab. Drive to Cairo
After a free morning for some last snorkelling or diving, we drive back by coach, through the Sinai desert, under the Suez Canal, and on to Cairo (approx. 7 hours). We arrive in the evening and check into our hotel.
