Day 1 : Yogyakarta, arrival
On your arrival at Yogyakarta Airport your driver will transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2 : Yogyakarta
This morning after breakfast we will travel to Borobudur Temple, 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta. Borobudur, a Buddhist stupa in the Mahayana tradition, is the largest Buddhist monument in the world and was built around 750 AD. The magnificent temple is a three-dimensional mandala (diagram of the universe) and a visual representation of Buddhist teachings. This massive monument contains over 2 million stone blocks.

Next we travel to Pawon Temple which is 2km east of Borobudur. The temple's style and the relief carved on the wall resemble most Javanese Hindu Temple. This temple was built with volcanic stones. Architecturally it is a blend of old Javanese Hindu and Indian art.

Travelling further east we reach Candi Mendut (Mendut Temple) which is a Buddhist temple, built in 824 A.D. There are 3 large statues inside: Cakyamuni, Awalokiteswara and Maitreya.

Returning to Yogya in the afternoon we have plenty of time to explore this town. With beaches, markets, museums, parks, cultural performances, golf and rafting Yogya certainly has plenty to offer.

Day 3 : Yogyakarta – Prambanan - Malang
After breakfast we begin our overland tour to Malang. On the way we are lucky enough to visit Prambanan, the most beautiful Hindu Temple in the world devoted to the gods Brahma, Shiva and Vishnu. This temple is located 17 kilometers from the city center, among an area that now functions as beautiful park. Soaring up to 47 meters Prambanan Temple has three main temples in the primary yard, namely Vishnu, Brahma, and Shiva temples. In the second area there are 224 ruined temples!

Next we visit Sultan’s Palace in Solo where a local guide will show us the sights.

In the afternoon we arrive in Malang, a cool and old colonial city in East Java. With free time to explore why not check out some of Malangs beaches, Coban Rondo& Coban Pelangi waterfalls, Wonosari tea plantation, Wendit pool and Karangkates recreation park.

Day 4 : Malang - Bromo
With the morning free to explore Malang we head off in the early afternoon via Probolinggo to the Bromo-volcano. Here you will stay overnight in Cemoro Lawang, right on the outside edge of the Tengger crater. Your stay in Bromo, and the ascent to the top of the crater will certainly be a highlight of your trip.

Day 5 : Bromo  - Kalibaru
An early rise at 4.00 am this morning for the jeep ride to the sunrise viewpoint up above. Cross the 'sea of sand' and climb 246 steps upwards to the cone of Mt Bromo, and in the morning light you will see flames and smoke rising from the crater; a fantastic view, made even better when the slowly rising sun reveals an amazing moon-like landscape.

After this adventure you head back to your hotel for breakfast and continue to the tea gardens of Wonosari, where you visit the tea factory and take in the stunning vistas along the way. It’s also a great place for lunch. In the early afternoon you continue to Kalibaru, where you will overnight in beautifully situated bungalows near coffee, cacao and rubber plantations. (From Bromo to Kalibaru takes approximately 6 hours)

Day 6: Kalibaru
After breakfast we take a guided walk through the plantations around Kalibaru. We will learn about the crops that are grown here. During the walk you’ll visit a coffee plantation and also see how cocoa, rubber and cloves (for cigarettes) are grown. Later on you can watch the rubber production process in a small rubber factory. We will also see how tempe and tofu are made in small home factories.

Day 7: Kalibaru – Kuta (Bali)
Drive along the north coast of East Java to Banyuwangi, Java’s east coast port. Here you’ll be fascinated by locals diving into the water off high construction poles to fetch the coins dropped into the water by passengers. A short boat journey with the local ferry will then bring you to Bali, the fabled Island of Gods and Demons. (approximately 5 hours)
